U10-U12 (Ages 8-11)
Our new hybrid program option is designed for athletes who want to experience both Alpine racing and Big Mountain programs. The 2-Day Hybrid program offers alpine training with YSL on Saturday's, and all mountain training with Big Mountain Competition on Sunday's. This is a great opportunity for athletes who would like to spend a season learning both sides to the program, or ones who simply cannot make up their mind yet!
Saturday YSL race training will focus on foundational skills, technique, carving, race-specific drills, and gate training. Sunday Big Mountain training will focus on fundamental freeskiing skills, body and mountain awareness, competition criteria, choosing lines, and hitting features. Athletes will have the option to participate in both YSL races and IFSA Big Mountain competitions (all race and competition costs are additional and not included in the program fees). Coaches are highly qualified and experienced to help guide your athlete in navigating both the alpine race and big mountain worlds of skiing. This program helps instill a lifelong passion for skiing.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Athletes must be able to proficiently ski all terrain, including black diamonds. Self sufficiency is important in regards to taking care of themselves: lunch, bathroom, equipment on and off, etc.
Team Vest available for an additional purchase (exclusively for Big Mountain athletes, including Hybrid).
