Ages 6-13
ALL AGE GROUPS (U10, U12, U14)
The Age Class program provides dedicated athletes with the tools for personal success at Age Class races within the Rocky Mountain Division. At this level, athletes compete in Slalom, Giant Slalom, and Super G. Using all the terrain Loveland has to offer, LSC's dedicated training venues, and unparalleled access to early season race venue training, tools are provided to help each athlete reach their personal best as the level of competition increases.
ADVANCED SKILL DEVELOPMENT: Age Class Athletes will be guided through a progressively more challenging battery of drills designed to hone learned skills while developing new skills that will help them success in and out of the race course. These progressions are designed around the Loveland Ski Club Method of Progression that will help them succeed in and out of the race course.
GUIDED FREESKIING: As each athlete grows in skill and ability, they will be exposed to a variety of more challenging snow conditions, lessons and drills, and terrain. This includes bumps, steeps, harder snow conditions, deeper snow, open glades, and upper mountain terrain.
GATELESS TRAINING: The success of the Age Class Team is rooted in the extensive use of free skiing and drills outside of gated courses. This includes drills to progress the athletes body positioning, stance, balance, edging, and pressure, as well as the knowledge and understanding of drills and the purpose they serve.
GATE TRAINING AND RACING: Athletes will be exposed to a broad range of training courses which include brushes, stubby gates, dye lines, as well as age appropriate height slalom and giant slalom gates. This immersion into gated training is designed to fuse the athletes' developing skills with the strategy and tactics required to be a successful ski racer.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EQUIPMENT: Athletes should be comfortable skiing all terrain at Loveland Ski Area. Athletes should have age and discipline-appropriate race equipment. Please refer to their coach for equipment suggestions. Proper equipment care becomes important at this level, from strapping and protecting skis, to ensuring that skis are in proper condition and tuned for training and racing.

We are so grateful for the Loveland Age Class coaches! Their dedication to our daughter's personal growth and development in the sport is just what she needed to build her confidence and love of skiing. Thanks to them she is truly “Loveland Tough!" We are so happy with the Loveland Ski Club as a whole and look forward to next season!

LSC Age Class is the perfect program if your athlete is looking to take the next step in their competitive ski racing journey. They coach the whole athlete focusing on performance and mental resilience. This approach is only possible because of the coach to athlete ratio. Our daughter grew as an athlete, racer and person in this program. Our family found a supportive, and fun, ski community. The club fosters a positive culture and we believe this is the best program in the front range. Convenient as well right off I-70.
